#11 Noman's land

November 2, 2025

We were so taken by the beautiful parks of Hertfordshire, shining in their fall colours that we decided to go back, but this time to spend more time exploring them together. Jasmine drew a rather ambitiously long route. She estimated the walking would take about 3 hours, but we didn’t think too much about how long it would take to also have a picnic, and feed and change Pemi multiple times. Jasmine did an early morning long run, and then Andrew ran to meet Jasmine and Pemi in St. Albans. It was such a beautiful day! We saw many new places and many places we had either biked or run through before that we could now enjoy more slowly as a family. Pemi was wide-eyed and chatty, practicing new sounds and playing with his voice. We also had a phenomenal almond bread pudding in Wheathampstead and found some bramley apples for apple crumble - to Jasmine’s foraging heart content. It was a longer day than we had planned and we arrived in Welwyn Garden City after dark. We were all tired, but so happy to get to enjoy a glorious sunset and walk through the woods at dusk.
